"'Godspell' is something of a marvel of modern drama, springing from master’s thesis project to one of the most iconic ’70s shows of all time.

It is still relevant and popular after nearly four-and-a-half decades, and the Guilford College Department of Music and Theatre Studies shows audiences why with their production of “Godspell,” directed by Bryan Conger, in Sternberger Auditorium on Guilford’s campus."

Words from Bryan

“[Godspell] is about building a community. Guilford College has such a wonderful array of students from different backgrounds, racial backgrounds and socioeconomic backgrounds. It is so exciting to have all those different perspectives in the room to create a community.

We chose ‘Godspell’ because we felt like it was relevant in these … times. We thought it was important to talk about what it means to be a community, how to build a community and how to treat one another.”
